Well, I've finally gone and done it. I'm blogging. Who knows if you'll be interested in what I have to say, after all, I'm 'only' a SAHM stationed in Germany. I love to craft, especially sew - mostly clothing for Miss M - but every once in a while I surprise myself with something different. Like this wallhanging. It is for Master M's cub scout charter to say thank you for supporting us. I'm not a quilter by any stretch of the imagination, so this was somewhat out of my comfort zone. Can I just say, I hate quilt binding? I'm sure that I'm not the only one out there, but I can never get it to line up properly on both sides.
After I finished making this, I spent the rest of my Sunday sewing up a Valentine's cushion for the bench in our entryway. There is a story behind this bench that I will save for another day, but I continued with the quilting theme and stitched up a paper-pieced heart pillow from
http://www.youcanquiltthis.com/ I love all of their sites and could easily forget important things like cleaning and meal preparation and sew all day - oh, that's exactly what I did do today - whoops!
The next project on my list is to finish another quilt (did I mention that I'm not a quilter?) for Miss M. At this rate she won't have any new clothes to wear, and I don't think that a quilt wrapped around her and secured with a couple of safety pins will suffice. Luckily it's another quick project as I have lots of ideas and yummy fabrics to work with for some cute dresses - all for Miss M, of course.
In the mean time, I'm off to do a little reading before bed. Two more of my favorite things (books and sleep). I also like food (love food), baking, and looking for bargains.
Come back soon,
Mrs. M
